The American Long Rifle Association will sponsor a special event at Old Fort Niagara focusing on how common people survived on the New York frontier during the 18th century.
- Cabin Fever Lecture (Mar 27, 2010)
Dr. Timothy J. Shannon, Chair of the History Department at Gettysburg College, author of Iroquois Diplomacy and Indians and Colonists at the Crossroads of Empire: The Albany Congress of 1754, will present "After the Conquest: The Iroquois and the British Empire, 1760-1776" at 2 pm in the Old Fort Niagara Visitor Center.
Free Admission. Underwritten by the New York Council for the Humanities.

Living History programs commemorating the anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution.
- Ecole du Soldat (Apr 24 - Apr 25, 2010)
The Fort is garrisoned by French troops recreating the period of the French and Indian War. Living history programs throughout the day.

- Cabin Fever Lecture (May 1, 2010)
Dr. David L. Preston, Associate Professor of History at the Citadel, will present "Friendly Meetings: Everyday life in European and Indian Frontier Communities" at the Old Fort Niagara Visitor Center at 2 pm. Preston is author of The Texture of Contact: European and Indian Settler Communities on the Frontier of Iroquoia 1667-1783.

Middle and high school students encounter over 20 interpretive stations demonstrating life in New France during the early 18th century. Among the topics are French architecture, music, food, medicine, religion, travel, folklore, military life, diplomacy and fortification. Many interactive stations. Old Fort Niagara's largest event of the year recreates the excitng days of the 1759 Siege during the French and Indian War.

British and American forces battle for control of Fort Niagara. Night Battle 7 pm on Saturday.

British and American forces struggle for control of the New York frontier.
